With its two swimming pools, one cascading into the other, Villa LuWih exudes cool serenity.  Entering the grounds of this three-storey villa, you’ll first step across the garden strewn with Buddha statues, fountains and exotic plants.  Off to the right near the entrance sits a pavilion with well-stocked bar set next to the villa’s extra (seventh) bedroom with twin beds.

Then it’s a few more steps to the 12m swimming pool, lined with an inviting oversized daybed and a row of sun loungers – enough to provide poolside shade and comfort for a full house.  The pavilion’s main level, which runs in an L-shape around the pool, houses two spacious king-bedded bedrooms.

Set back from the pool is the living area with a large sofa and flat-screen TV, its chilled-out ambiance enhanced by the waterfall flowing into the pool across the front of the room.  Next to it is a Western kitchen, featuring a black-granite topped island with stools where guests may sit to watch the chef in action at breakfast (other meals are prepared in the chef’s own kitchen, hidden away in the staff quarters).  The bright dining room is almost completely surrounded by glass, allowing for magnificent views of the green fields and sea.  Its vaulted ceiling and long teakwood table for 12 make any meal taken here feel like a grand affair.    

Up on the top floor, featuring its own 6m swimming pool and terrace, are two king-bedded bedrooms plus a media room.  Next to the pool is a balé with a comfy sofa, as well as a deck jutting out the front with two double sun loungers.  On the lower floor are two more bedrooms, perfect for a family seeking their own private space.  The king-bedded room’s large suite has a living area that opens out to its own small garden, while the twin-bedded room enjoys a private walled garden.  All bedrooms at Villa LuWih have rather swish ensuite bathrooms, five with bathtubs, and 40-inch TVs with a DVD player and iPod dock.

Villa LuWih is built to a high standard, with Balinese and Asian design touches adding colour and vibrancy to its subtle style.  The bright green of the outdoor furniture reflects the lush greenery of the surrounding Canggu countryside, while natural materials – wood, marble and granite – add to LuWih’s quality feel.
