Most of villa Kayajiwa’s accommodation (including three of the four bedrooms) is on the ground floor, built in an L-shape around the large pool and tropical garden.
The vast living and dining area is great for experiencing tropical living when it’s opened up to the cooling breezes, although it can be closed off entirely if you prefer comfort of the air conditioned kind. The warm wooden furnishings combined with the colourful velvet sofas give this space a palatial feel, with a huge Balinese wedding crown providing a stunning centrepiece. Just off the living area is the villa’s well-equipped kitchen.
The huge master bedroom on the ground floor is truly spectacular. Its four-poster king-size bed has a beautiful velvet canopy, providing a very romantic touch. In its large bathroom is a grand stone tub and a rather fascinating high-tech toilet. More suite than bedroom, the master has a separate dressing room and an adjacent space that works well as a small office.
The two ground-floor guest rooms are furnished with king-size beds and are mirror images of each other. They each come with a large semi-open-air bathroom overlooking a private patio garden.
The karaoke room, which doubles as a home cinema, is furnished with two large comfortable sofas and has its own bathroom. And if singing’s not your thing, simply head upstairs to the beautiful Eastern themed massage room for a relaxing spa treatment. The massage room leads to small but cosy bedroom with two single beds and lovely views of the garden and the surrounding rice fields.
More beautiful views can be enjoyed from the stylishly furnished roof terrace – especially lovely at sunset, with a cool cocktail in hand.
