The seven two-bedroom villas at The Layar each lie among lush private gardens and are designed over multiple levels under angled, overlapping roofs.  Their semi-open-air, fan-cooled living and dining spaces spread generously from pool decks, past large, well-equipped kitchens and, via open stairways, up to mezzanine media rooms tucked neatly below the sweeping roof line, where curved banks of built-in seating gaze towards the pool.

Handsome sofas, chairs and dining tables cluster on the acid-washed marble floors of the living and dining areas which are decorated with rustic Asian art and artefacts interspersed with super-size floral displays that add splashes of colour to the otherwise pleasingly neutral palette.

Two air-conditioned ensuite bedrooms are arranged on either side of the living area; both are exceptionally spacious and private and are fitted with king-size beds, sitting areas and flat-screen TVs.  As in the living space, colour schemes are softly muted and soothing.  Master bedrooms have sliding doors onto either a small deck or private corner of the garden. In both bedrooms, glamorous bathrooms with private garden areas are fitted with large bathtubs, showers and double vanities.

Wooden sun decks extend seamlessly from the living areas, furnished with comfortable loungers and punctuated with jacuzzi tubs.  The pools – which are between 44sqm and 55sqm in size – are gently curved and lined with a grey/green stone that reflects beautifully back through the water, making it look too good to resist.  In some of the villas, sunken pergolas provide more outdoor seating.
