A walkway from Villa Markisa’s main entrance leads to the upper level of the guest pavilion, which is split vertically into a pair of two-bedroom apartments.  Mirror-image air-conditioned living rooms are separated by a huge teakwood door that can retract to create one large space for those wishing to socialise together.  In each room, comfortable sofas and chairs are set before 43-inch satellite channel TVs, and a sensational ocean vista spreads out beyond the glass balcony doors.  Enjoying the same vista on either side of the living spaces are two air-conditioned guest bedrooms, with spilt king beds – one arranged as a king, one as twins – a seating area, and enormous marble bathroom with twin basins, bathtub, monsoon shower enclosure and walk-in wardrobe.

Matching teakwood staircases link the living rooms to the (also interconnecting) dining rooms below – each with a dining table for six, open-plan kitchenette, guest washroom and two more identical guest bedrooms, also configured as a king and twin.  All of the lower storey rooms open onto an ironwood deck furnished with sun loungers and all-weather tables for four facing the 9-metre swimming pools – one for each apartment, separated by a high feature wall, but linked by retractable doors.

To one side of the lawn is an open-sided pavilion with seating and dining for eight, plus four washrooms; this is the perfect party space for weddings and family events.  A second smaller pavilion sits right on the cliff edge – an ideal spot for sea-breeze lunches and sunset cocktails with a killer view.

At the far side of the lawn, concealed below a third sunbathing deck with glass balcony and ocean views, is the ultra-private master suite – a honeymooners’ haven.  An antique engagement bed has pride of place within the living area (which includes a dining table, butlers pantry and washroom).  The bedroom is richly decorated with a king size bed and antiques, and is equipped with a 50-inch TV.  The large bathroom features bathtub, monsoon shower, twin basins and walk-in wardrobe.  All three rooms enjoy spectacular sea views beyond the suite’s private cliff-edge garden – complete with freeform swimming pool and cosy loveseat set on the ironwood deck.
