Heralded by a splendid entranceway, Villa Sati comprises four bedroom pavilions, a living and dining pavilion with an adjoining kitchen, and a traditional lumbung for relaxation or play, positioned around a free-form swimming pool. Each of the four air-conditioned bedrooms is a contemporary take on a traditional Javanese joglo building, incorporating antique elements and recycled wood under a trapezium-shaped roof. Each has a sitting area, complete with a desk, a cushioned window seat (which can be made up as a child’s bed), a dressing area and an indoor-outdoor ensuite bathroom. Three have private stone terraces at the front, and one has a private garden at the back. One of the bedrooms is furnished with a king bed, and the other three are furnished with twin beds that convert to king beds. Each is equipped with a safe, satellite-channel TV/ DVD player, and iPod dock. Each ensuite bathroom has a non-slip acid marble floor, twin washbasins, walk-in rain shower, and a freestanding bathtub within a private walled garden.The open-sided living and dining pavilion is comfortably furnished with sofas, armchairs, a coffee table and a piano. The dining area presents a teak table for ten lit by pendulous glass lanterns. The adjacent, self-contained kitchen is fully equipped and includes an oven and hob, a large refrigerator and a wine cooler. An antique lumbung serves as a relaxation pavilion or a play house for kids. Here, above a sheltered platform, is a timber-walled room guarded by a pair of griffins and adorned with traditional Balinese kamasan-style paintings from Karangasem. Finally, the large free-form swimming pool is bordered by a stone deck, furnished with sun loungers and umbrellas, and surrounded by flowering trees and shrubs. Shared facilities at Dea Villas include: Dea Spa, with massage room, outdoor treatment area, sauna, jacuzzi and showers; a fully equipped, air-conditioned gym, and a children’s playground with sandpit, Wendy house, swings and slides.
